The invention relates to a connection box with which electrical and/or electronic components can be changed from the front side of the solar module (2) in an uncomplicated manner; a new quality in respect of the ease of servicing is thereby achieved. The connection box for solar modules has a housing body (4) and a housing cover (7) and is used with a solar module, the panel (1) of which has at least one cutout (3) or perforation (3). When the connection box is mounted on the solar module (2), the housing body (4) is situated on the rear side (2.2) and the housing cover (7) is situated on the front side (2.1) of the solar module (2). The housing body (4) and the housing cover (7) cover the cutout (3) or perforation (3) in the panel (1). In this case, the housing cover (7) is connected to the housing body (4) and/or to the solar module (2) in a releasable manner.
