A liquid crystal display device (1) is equipped with a backlight module (10). The backlight module (10) comprises a light guide plate (100) and a light source (200). The light guide plate (100) includes a light input surface (110), and the light source (200) is arranged adjacent to the light incident surface (110). The backlight module (10) further comprises projections (300) which abut against the light incident surface (110) so as to limit the spacing between the light source (200) and the light incident surface (110). The backlight module (10) is provided with the projections (300), therefore the distance between the light source (200) and the light incident surface (110) of the light guide plate (100) is effectively limited, and the optical coupling efficiency of the backlight module (10) is improved.
