摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an amount of computation by a de-noise filter while suppressing reduction in encoding efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In a de-noise filter processing device 101, an edge direction detection unit 102 calculates an edge direction using an image on which de-noising is to be performed. A search shape setting unit 103 sets a search shape that has fewer search points in a direction orthogonal to the edge direction than the number of search points along the edge direction, using the calculated edge direction as an indicator used for limiting the search shape.
