<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a high linear recording density and a high signal-to-noise ratio. <P>SOLUTION: A heat-assisted magnetic recording method includes a first step and a second step. In the first step, heat is applied to a portion of a hard disk medium, and a movable high temperature region HT is formed in a magnetic recording layer 104 of the hard disk medium. The high temperature region HT is a region in which temperature T is higher than that of the surroundings thereof and becomes temperature higher than the maximum value Tc-max of coercive force disappearance temperature of a plurality of magnetic particles 104a of the magnetic recording layer 104. At least one magnetic particle 104a adjacent to the rear end of the high temperature region HT in the movement direction D1 of the high temperature region HT has coercive force Hc of a value other than 0. In the second step, a recording magnetic field is applied to the hard disk medium so that the magnitude Hz of the recording magnetic field applied to the at least one magnetic particle 104a adjacent to the rear end of the high temperature region HT may be 3kOe or below. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
