<p>The present element (4,...) for a belt-type stepless transmission is provided with: a body section (4a) for supporting a pulley pressing force; a neck section (4b) extended from the center of the body section (4a) in the width direction; and a pair of saddle grooves (4d, 4d) formed on both sides of the neck section (4b) and allowing a pair of rings (3, 3) to be inserted therein. The body section (4a) is provided with: a pair of recesses (4h, 4h) respectively formed on the inner sides of the saddle grooves (4d, 4d); a pair of protrusions (4i, 4i) respectively formed on the open-side ends of the saddle grooves (4d, 4d); a rocking edge section (4g) serving as the center of rocking, in the circumferential direction of the belt, of an adjacent element (4, ...); and contact surfaces (4j, ...) formed closer to ear sections (4c, 4c) than the rocking edge section (4g) and located on the front surfaces (4m) of the protrusions (4i, 4i) which face forward in the rotational direction of the belt.</p> |
