<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition device for vehicle, an image recognition method for vehicle, a program and a medium capable of enhancing recognition performance more effectively without increasing processing loads. <P>SOLUTION: An image recognition device for vehicle includes: imaging means; extracting means for extracting a crossing possible area 25 from a captured image captured by the imaging means; dividing means for dividing an area of road surface including a road and a sidewalk in the captured image into area parts α-ζ with borderlines based on the border of the crossing possible area 25; selection means for selecting pedestrian patterns corresponding to the area parts α-ζ respectively; and recognition means for recognizing a pedestrian in each of the area parts α-ζ by collation using the pedestrian patterns. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
