Disclosed are a route calculation method, node device and communication system for fat tree topology; the method comprises: a primary node receiving the identifier and interconnect interface information of a first node sent by the first node, the first node is a node other than the primary node in the fat tree; the primary node and the first node belong to the same fat tree, and the rank of the primary node in the fat tree is 0; and calculating the route of the fat-tree topology according to the received identifier and interconnect interface information of the first node, and sending the calculation result to the first node. The primary node obtains the fat-tree topology via the identifier and interconnect interface information of the first node sent by the first node according to the identifier and interconnect interface information, then calculates route according to the topology and then sends to the first node, thus cutting down many manual configuration processes, reducing configuration errors and improves the configuration speed.
