An aqueous dispersion comprises a polymer which is obtainable by the reaction of: 1) = 1 weight-% to = 97.5 weight-% of a polyisocyanate; 2) = 0 weight-% to = 75 weight% of a polyol; 3) = 1 weight-% to = 97.5 weight-% of a diiunctional oligoacrylate telechelic which is obtainable in a free radical polymerization of carbonyl group-containing monomers via chain transfer using a dihydroxy-functional thiol; 4) = 1 weight-% to = 15 weight-% of an isocyanate-reactive ionic and/or nonionic hydrophilising agent; 5) = 0 weight-% to = 10 weight-% of an isocyanate reactive compound different from components 1) to 4); 6) = 0.5 weight-% to = 10 weight-% of a polyfunctional component which can react with the carbonyl groups of component 3); the weight percentages of components 1) to 6) adding up to = 100 weight-%. The invention further concerns a method for the production of such a dispersion and its use in coatings and/or adhesives.
