<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an apatite ceramic capable of improving ion conductivity, and imparting chemical stability bearable to long-term use, and to provide a fuel cell using the apatite ceramic. <P>SOLUTION: In this method for producing an apatite ceramic, when synthesizing an apatite ceramic comprising a lanthanoid silicate by reacting a raw material containing lanthanoid with Si (silicon), at least either of Al and Mg is doped so as to generate an apatite ceramic having following composition formula (1), and a transition metal is added thereto.
