<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a total heat exchanging element that can improve heat exchange efficiency while preventing pressure loss in a flow path from increasing. <P>SOLUTION: The total heat exchange element 3 includes: a plurality of partition members 1 having a sheet-like shape and made of a heat conductive and moisture permeable material; space retaining members 2 provided between the partition members 1, and disposed on two opposite side edges of the partition members 1; and a tensile force applying part for applying a tensile force to surfaces of the partition members.
