The invention describes a method and system for performing a transaction comprising the following steps: providing an image valid only for a given transaction (520); displaying the image on a screen of a communication terminal of a first user involved in the transaction in question; recognising the image displayed using a terminal of a second user involved in the transaction in question; checking the validity of the image recognised (565); and performing the transaction (585) in question once the image has been validated.
