The opto-electronic measuring unit (M) has an optical arrangement for receiving light emanating from a measuring object and a sensor arrangement. The measuring unit is provided with an optical axis (A) consisting of a convex entrance lens with a relatively large diameter. A lens aperture (B) lies in the focal plane of an entrance lens (L1), where an optical diffusor (D) is arranged in a beam path in immediate proximity of the lens aperture and in the focal plane of a sensor-lens (L2). An independent claim is included for a hand-held colorimeter for measuring monitors, projectors, projection surfaces and ambient light.
