The invention relates to an item of street furniture which will on the one hand limit damage and/or injury resulting from a collision/contact with both the item of street furniture and the colliding object or person in the case of minor collisions/contacts (this is the energy absorbing part), whereupon the obstacle springs back to its normal position, whilst on the other hand, from a certain degree of collision/contact, the item of street furniture still performs a protective function, in particular causing the object or person which/who caused the collision/contact to stop (is het impact-resistant part) without losing its resilience. |
