The device has a fixation unit for fixing a decorative element on a support piece (1). The decorative element comprises a spherical cap (2) and another spherical cap that is cut from a golf ball and fixed on respective surfaces of the support piece to form a rigid assembly. The fixation unit comprises an adhesive layer arranged between the support piece and one of the caps. The support piece is formed of magnetic material to constitute a magnet. The support piece is formed by machining a metal piece or by injecting synthetic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a utilitarian and/or ornamental device.
