SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus capable of storing document data and performing network communication includes: a detecting section that detects, in an objective document to be stored, an incomplete portion in which an index for detection and attribute data representing attributes of undescribed information that is scheduled to be described are described; an acquiring section that acquires information to be described in the incomplete portion from a server connected to the image forming apparatus via a network, on the basis of the attribute data and information described around the attribute data; and an editing section that performs automated editing for describing the information acquired from the server in the incomplete portion.
