This settlement system (2) is provided with: a register (40) which has a receiving unit for receiving manual entry of information corresponding to at least a portion of a deposit from a customer and a transmission unit for transmitting the total amount of purchased goods and the manual entry information which has been manually entered via the receiving unit to a cash settlement device (11); and the cash settlement device (11), which identifies and counts currency which has been inserted in order to calculate the amount of money inserted, calculates the sum of the deposit from the customer using the amount of money inserted and the manual entry information which has been received from the register (40), and calculates the amount of change on the basis of the sum and the total amount which has been received from the register (40) in order to disburse the change currency.
