<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication circuit and a communication method capable of saving power when a communication cable is not connected, and performing a link-up operation immediately after the return from a power saving state to a normal state when the communication cable is connected. <P>SOLUTION: A communication circuit has a communication connector 20 and physical layer processing means 10.
