<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crankshaft and an engine wherein a foreign object such as metallic powder mixed into a lubricant can be removed at an early stage. <P>SOLUTION: In the case where the lubricant within a shaft oil path 20 formed in the interior of a shaft flows out of an outflow oil path 22 into the exterior of a crank pin 5 through a pin oil path 21 formed in the interior of the crank pin 5, a foreign object collection part 24 connected to the pin oil path 21 is provided as a chamber within the crank pin 5 on the outer side in the shaft radial direction at least relative to the pin oil path 21 so that the foreign object such as the metallic powder mixed into the lubricant due to a centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the shaft is collected in the foreign object collection part 24. Further, the foreign object collection part 24 is provided even on the inner side in the shaft radial direction relative to the pin oil path 21 so as to collect the collected foreign objects which fall by gravity during an engine stoppage period. The foreign object collection part 24 can collect the foreign objects on both the upstream and downstream sides of a lubricant flow direction in the connecting point between the pin oil path 21 and the outflow oil path 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
