The objective of the present invention is to connect networks each of which has a host, and achieve transparent transaction between devices spanning over the networks. A station contained in a target apparatus obtains, in response to a request from an initiator apparatus to obtain a device handle, configuration information about the target device from a host thereof, and relays, on the basis of the configuration information, transactions between the initiator apparatus and the target device without the host intervening therebetween.
