Use of a zinc oxide frit comprising zinc oxide (20-75 wt.%) and exhibiting an average grain size of less than 30mu m as a UV light-absorbing pigment for the application areas of thermoplastically moldable plastics, thermosetting plastics, solvent-based paints, water-based paints, radiation curable coatings and coating systems, powder coatings and powder coating systems, other carrier materials based on synthetic and natural polymers and waxes, paper coatings and hydraulically setting building products, is claimed.
