The connection module (1) has two optical line units (2,3) for connecting with two fiber optic cables (6,7) respectively. The optical connection units are connected by an electronic connection unit (4). A limiter module (5) is arranged between optical line unit (3) and electronic connection unit, for limiting power of light beam guided by fiber optic cable (7). A current limiting unit (8) and a voltage limiting unit (11) are provided in limiter module. The optical line unit (3) is designed in accordance with IEEE 802.3 Gigabit Ethernetstandard.
