<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation/control release type methylphenidate oral preparation exhibiting a quick initial onset of its action and also having a prolonged action retention time. <P>SOLUTION: The oral preparation contains a substrate including: an effective amount of methylphenidate or its salt which is pharmaceutically allowable; and at least one pH dependence type coating applied to obtain the weight of about 2 to about 25% of the substrate. The time till the maximum plasma concentration of the preparation is controlled to be about 0.5 to about 4 hours after oral administration, the peak plasma concentration is controlled to be about 3 to about 6.5 ng/ml per 20 mg of the dose of the methylphenidate included in the oral preparation, and the peak plasma concentration is about 1.0 to about 2.0 times of the plasma concentration of the methylphenidate brought out by the preparation after about 9 hours after oral administration. Peak concentration is lower than that of a standard preparation of an immediate releasing type methylphenidate preparation, and also, its action is quickly decreased at the final end of the dosing intervals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
