<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system that prevents an area where a continuous gradation area and a flat area are mixed from being determined as either a continuous gradation area or a flat area. <P>SOLUTION: In an image processing system, reception means of the image processing system receives an image; separation means separates a first area in the image; extraction means extracts a second area of a color having a predetermined relationship in the first area separated by the separation means; acquisition means acquires a feature of the shape of the second area extracted by the extraction means; first determination means determines whether the second area is a flat area or not based on the feature acquired by the acquisition means; second determination means determines whether the attribute of the first area is a continuous gradation area, a flat area, or a mixture of a continuous gradation area and a flat area, based on the proportion of the second area determined as a flat area by the first determination means in the first area separated by the separation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
