<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine that includes a variable compression ratio mechanism in which a substructure including a crankcase and a cylinder block are relatively moved and that supplies sufficient amounts of lubricant to each part. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine includes: a first toothing that rotates with a crankshaft; a second toothing to which torque of the first toothing is transmitted; and a third toothing that rotates integral with the second toothing and drives a timing chain which transmits torque to an intake camshaft. The second toothing and the third toothing are supported by a move shaft 62 so as to be rotatable. The move shaft 62 is supported by the crankshaft 61 via a crank-side support member 73. The lubricant flowing in an oil path 61a of the crankshaft 61 is supplied to the timing chain through an oil path 73a of the crank-side support member 73. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
