<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure printing quality when printing sheets having different thicknesses in a moving direction of a carriage (moving body). <P>SOLUTION: The automatic paper thickness setting mechanism forming a predetermined clearance between a printing means and a recording medium includes: a reciprocally moving element which mounts the printing means; a pressing means which is extended in the moving direction of the moving element and biases the recording medium to the printing means side; a regulation member which is disposed in the pressing means in parallel and keeps the recording medium, biased by the pressing means abuts, in contact; and a clearance adjusting means which is mounted to the moving element, comes in contact with the regulation member and forms the predetermined clearance between the printing means and the recording medium; and a cut section, which is extended in the orthogonal direction to the moving direction of the moving element, is formed to the regulation member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
