<p>A liquid crystal display apparatus comprises a liquid crystal panel in which plural sub-pixels of red, green, blue, and a fourth color, which has a higher brightness than the other three colors, are arranged in a column direction and a row direction, and a signal control unit which generates drive signals for the respective sub-pixels. The signal control unit generates the drive signals for the respective sub-pixels not only so that each pixel of the liquid crystal panel is made up of four sub-pixels which are adjacent to one another in two consecutive columns and two consecutive rows, but also so that there is one column and one row overlap between every four pixels which are adjacent to one another in two consecutive columns and two consecutive rows.</p> |
