PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for estimating object information of an image photographed by a camera having a multiple color filter iris are provided to calculates a CSF(Color Shifting Vector) by using chromatic information of the traced object area. CONSTITUTION: An object tracing unit(110) detects an object from an original image photographed by a camera having an iris. A plurality of openings is formed in the iris. A different color filter is applied to the opening unit. A CSF operation unit(120) calculates a CSF in an area of the detected object. The CSF indicates a movement direction of color channels of the original image. A distance information estimating unit(130) estimates real distance information from a camera to the object.
