A method for mounting a resolver

A method for providing an electric synchronous machine (2) with a resolver in a state able to deliver information about the instantaneous position of a rotor (12) of the machine with respect to a stator (9) of the machine to be used for controlling exchange of electric power between a winding (11) of the stator and an AC source or receiver comprises the steps of fixing the stator winding in a predetermined position with respect to the machine stator, a resolver stator (28) in a predetermined position with respect to the machine stator and a resolver rotor (30) in a predetermined position with respect to said machine rotor. The machine rotor is made to rotate and electric parameters influenced by this rotation are measured. Software is used to utilise values of these electric parameters for calculating said instantaneous position of the machine rotor with respect to the machine stator.
