A basket of a container for storage of spent fuel assemblies is formed by at least three hexagonal cells of aluminum alloy. From outside of each wall of the absorption cell a longitudinal groove is located, and in the space formed by two grooves of two cells adjacent to each other a flat seal of corrosion-resistant materials is located.
