PURPOSE: An active matrix display device and a driving method thereof are provided to express a desired tone using each pixel by compensating the variation of a power supply voltage of a power line due to the variation of total drive current. CONSTITUTION: A panel(100) includes a plurality of scan lines transmitting a scan signal, a plurality of data lines transmitting a data signal, a display device, a pixel circuit(110) including a drive transistor for driving the display device, and a power line supplying a drive current to the drive transistor. A scan drive unit(300) selectively applies the scan signal to the scan line. A compensation circuit(600) generates a compensation signal compensating the drop of a voltage of the power line. A data drive unit(200) applies the data signal compensated by the compensation circuit to the date line.
