PURPOSE: An apparatus for treating exhaust gas is provided to increase the collecting efficiency of dust by adjusting the passing pressure and speed of the exhaust gas through a neck part at the neck part. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for treating exhaust gas includes an exhaust gas cooling part(11), a washing water spraying part(12), a neck part(13), a dust separating part(14), a coolant supplying path, and a washing water supplying path. The coolant supplying path includes a plurality of coolant spraying nozzles. Coolant spraying nozzles adjacent to the inner wall of the exhaust gas cooling part downwardly direct to the center of the cooling part. The washing water spraying part sprays washing water to collect dust from exhaust gas. The washing water supplying path includes washing water spraying nozzles. The neck part introduces the exhaust gas through the washing water spraying part. The passing area of the neck part is smaller than the passing area of the washing water spraying part. The pressure of the introduced exhaust gas is reduced at the neck part. Dust in contact with the washing waste is separated from the exhaust gas at the dust separating part. The exhaust gas discharging part is in connection with the dust separating part and discharges the exhaust gas without dust to external side.
