PURPOSE: A local communication apparatus of a portable terminal is provided to reduce the work delay of a COS(Chip Operating System) by encoding and decoding data in an external module. CONSTITUTION: A smart card(130) includes a plurality of contact pointers. One or more contact pointers connect to a security module(182) using an SWP(Single Wire Protocol). The security module unit connects to one or more contact pointers of a smart card using the SWP. The data received from an NFC(Near Field Communication) module unit(151) is decoded, the security module unit transmits the decoded data to the smart card. After the data received the smart card is encrypted, the security module unit transmits the encrypted data to the NFC module unit.
