TILTABLE SHIFT LEVER SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tiltable shift lever system capable of preventing the upper lever from tilting down unless locking is released even when a shift lever of select rod is built-in type.

SOLUTION: The tiltable shift lever system is structured so that an upper lever 8 projecting from a lever case 1 equipped with a longitudinal slit 5 extending in a shift direction and a lateral slit 6 extending in a lateral direction from a P-range is folded down sideway around a fold-down shaft 9 at the lower end. Under the upper lever 8, there is provided a lock mechanism 10 for regulating the rotation of the upper lever 8 to the side in the P-range. A fold-down operation lever 20 for releasing the lock mechanism is structured to be exposed to a surface of the lever case 1.
