<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication server that employs a two-dimensional code, thereby reducing time and effort of inputting a password and providing an authentication method having a higher level of security strength. <P>SOLUTION: An authentication server (1) which is connected to an input display device (2) and a two-dimensional code reading device (3) via a network (4) and performs user authentication, carries out the steps of: imaging, on the screen of the input display device, each of a user two-dimensional code which is obtained by dividing secrecy data relating to a user into a predetermined number (m) of pieces and converting them into a two-dimensional code, and a dummy two-dimensional code which is obtained by dividing at least one row of random numbers into a predetermined number (m) of pieces for each of the row of random numbers and converting them into a two-dimensional code; arranging symbols of the plurality of two-dimensional codes at locations specified by an arrangement instruction; receiving, from the two-dimensional code reading device, connection information in which the plurality of two-dimensional code symbols arranged on the input display device screen are connected; and performing the user authentication by determining whether the received connection information matches the secrecy data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
