<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for implementing partitioning in memory cards and modules in contrast to conventional memory cards or modules having only a single partition. <P>SOLUTION: A representative memory card/module in accordance with the present invention includes one or more memory devices, and a memory interface which includes a data bus, a command line, and a clock line. The memory card/module further includes a memory controller coupled to the one or more memory devices and to the memory interface.
