The transport system (1) has a trajectory (9) designed in an area of a sprocket wheel (7) with a section (9.2) that effects a polygon compensation. Multiple connected transport pallets (2) are provided in a transport element (1.1) to form a self-contained strap, which is guided over the sprocket-wheel and a deflection (6). The polygon compensation effecting section of the trajectory has a course such that the polygon compensation effecting section is passed through a track joint (3). An independent claim is provided for a processing machine with a transport path of the transport element for a processing station.
