The method involves feeding a part of pollutant-containing fluid to a combustion device by an oxidant supply line of a gas turbine (104). The pollutants containing in the pollutant-containing fluid is burned-up by the gas turbine. A part of heat produced during the combustion is transferred by a heat exchanger (124) on a fluid supply line (112) for the gas turbine for generating electricity. An independent claim is also included for a cleaning apparatus for executing a cleaning method for a contaminated fluid, particularly exhaust air from a paint spray line.
