<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate chipping of a tread part due to secular deterioration by reproducing the chipping in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A method for evaluating the durability of a tire 1 in which a tread part 2 is provided with a draining tread groove 2D recessed from a tread 2S thereof includes: a pseudo abrasion step S1 for applying pseudo abrasion to the tread part 2 with buffing or cutting; a thermal aging step S2 for thermally deteriorating the tire 1; a notching step S3 for forming a notch 11 by cutting the tread groove 2D of the tire 1 subjected to pseudo abrasion from a deepest point 8d of a groove bottom 8 into rubber in small depth in parallel with the tread 2S; a traveling step S4 for mounting the tire 1 with the cut 11 formed on a vehicle to repeat direct advance travel M1 and turn travel M2; and an evaluating step S5 for measuring a travel distance until chipping 12 being rubber abrasion with the notch 11 as an original point occurs by the traveling step S4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
