YEAST VARIANT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PROTEIN USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yeast variant highly expressible of a gene encoding the desired target protein, and to provide a method for producing the protein using the same.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the protein comprises transferring an extraneous gene encoding the target protein into a host yeast in an expressible way, and reducing function of genes associated with autophagy, each encoding a factor essential for forming an autophagosome or a factor involved in degradation of an autophagic body in a vacuole.
