PURPOSE: A system for changing a contents player and a method thereof are provided to continuously use and play the contents in a terminal device, and easily moves the whole or a part of contents to other device, thereby continuously using the contents in one terminal device among a plurality of terminal devices. CONSTITUTION: A contents playing unit(110) plays specific contents. A device conversion controlling unit(130) performs a device conversion operation related to the playing contents for an external terminal device which is a conversion target when a device conversion event generates. The device conversion controlling unit requests device conversion completion according to the device conversion operation to a state management device. A conversion target selecting unit(120) requests a conversion target list to the state management device when the device conversion event generates.
