An intraocular lens having first and second viewing elements can be prepared for implantation according to methods for displacing the viewing elements relative to each other as disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the viewing elements overlap when viewed along an optical axis of the lens, and the lens can be prepared by relatively moving said viewing elements such that the first viewing element moves across said second viewing element.
