摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide printing paper that has high opacity and excellent printability even when the weight thereof is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: A printing paper of the invention comprises a filler internally added thereinto, and the filler includes composite particles comprising calcium carbonate particles and silica coating at least a part of surfaces of the calcium carbonate particles. The composite particles have an average particle size of 2 &mu;m or more and 15 &mu;m or less, and in a particle size distribution measured by logarithmically dividing a range of the composite particles from 0.021 &mu;m to 2,000 &mu;m into 132 segments, a frequency ratio of a mode is 3% or more and 12% or less. Moreover, the composite particles have a basis weight of 37 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or more and 49 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or less, white paper opacity of 90% or more and 96% or less, and printing opacity of 89% or more and 96% or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
