<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission apparatus and a data transmission method which in data transmission, avoid displaying personal information as it is. <P>SOLUTION: A data transmission apparatus 1 is provided with: a storage part 17 which stores transmission destination information A11 indicating the transmission destination of data; a display part 13a; a communication part 14; and a display information conversion part 18. When the display part 13a displays transmission destination information, the conversion part 18 determines whether a transmission destination character string indicating transmission destination information contains a character string to be substituted.
