The manhole cover has a frame (1), which carries an upward directed pin (8), on which a support rail is attachable for temporary accommodation. The pin extends parallel to a pivot axis substantially perpendicular to a shaft axis. The pin carries a nose (10), which is transversely oriented to the longitudinal axis of the pin. The pin is mounted on a base (7). An independent claim is also included for a combination of a support rail.
