A plasma display device (100) is provided with: an electroconductive panel chassis (20) furnished to the back surface of a plasma display panel (11) and electrically continuous with the ground side of drive circuits (12, 13); a video signal processing circuit for processing an external video signal that is input to input terminals (31, 32); an electromagnetic wave cutoff filter (21) covering the front surface of the plasma display panel (11); an electroconductive back cover (23) electrically continuous with the panel chassis (20) and/or the electromagnetic wave cutoff filter (21), the cover having formed thereon an input terminal placement area (70) in which the input terminals (31, 32) are placed; and a shunting conductor (34) whereby electrical current flowing into the back cover (23) from the outside peripheral section of the back cover (23)is conducted to the panel chassis (20) in front of the input terminal placement area (70).
