Provided is a kneading device for producing a thermoplastic resin molded body, comprising a plasticizing cylinder, and a screw arranged in the plasticizing cylinder to be rotatable and reciprocable therein, wherein a downstream side sealing mechanism is arranged between a high pressure kneading zone and a depressurized zone so as to connect and shut off the high pressure kneading zone and the depressurized zone in accordance with the rotational state of the screw. By using this kneading device, while the high pressure state is maintained in the high pressure kneading zone, a molten resin formed by plasticizing a thermoplastic resin and a pressurized fluid containing high-pressure carbon dioxide can be brought into contact and kneaded stably for a prolonged period of time.
