<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a glass substrate for a magnetic disk which has stable quality and high productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a glass substrate for a magnetic disk includes a molding step for making molten glass flow over a molten metal in a float bath to mold the molten glass into plate-shaped glass, and a cooling step for cooling the plate-shaped glass. The temperature fall speed of the plate-shaped glass from an exit of the float bath to a place at which the temperature of the glass becomes a strain point is 50°C/min or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
