The invention relates to an industrial burner of a thermal processing installation for directly or indirectly heating a furnace chamber, comprising a combustion chamber (13) having at least one opening (17) which leads into a heating chamber (12) and through which a flow (16) reaches the heating space (12) from the combustion chamber (13), also comprising at least one heat exchanger device (31) which cools the waste gas (33) conveyed from the heating chamber (12) into the heat exchanger device (31) by heat exchanging with the combustion air (15). The aim of said burner is to use the heat energy of the waste gas, which is contained in the waste gas, in an effective and constructionally simply and cost effective manner thus reducing to a minimum the heat of the combustion chamber with a view to cooling the waste gas. This is achieved by arranging a heat insulation (24) between the combustion chamber (13) and the at least one heat exchanger device (31), wherein the wall thickness of the heat insulation (24) is at least 3 mm and the heat insulation (24) comprises a material having a heat conductivity of less than 5 W/ (m·K). |
