<p>The method involves determining a position (202) of a navigation device, and defining square-shaped regions (209-215) in which the position of the navigation device is arranged so that an area (200) of the region is smaller than an area of a base. Map data assigned in the region are updated, where the map data not assigned in the region are not updated. A target position is determined, and the region is allowed to be set by the target position, and actuality of the map data assigned to the region is tested so that information is provided. The actuality of the map data is received. The region is selected from a square-shaped region, a rectangular-shaped region, a polygonal-shaped region, a circular-shaped region, and an elliptical-shaped region. An independent claim is also included for a navigation device comprising a nonvolatile memory unit.</p> |
