摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen absorbing alloy capable of maintaining high capacity over a long period of time when a battery is repeatedly charged and discharged, thereby contributing to the improvement of battery cycle life characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A hydrogen absorbing alloy of the present invention is a rare earth-Mg-Ni-based hydrogen absorbing alloy, and includes a mixed phase comprising an A<SB POS="POST">2</SB>B<SB POS="POST">4</SB>subunit L and an AB<SB POS="POST">5</SB>subunit H. The mixed phase includes a basic unit 2 represented as [LHLHHH] (where, L represents an A<SB POS="POST">2</SB>B<SB POS="POST">4</SB>subunit and H represents an AB<SB POS="POST">5</SB>subunit), and the basic unit 2 is periodically laminated in a c-axis direction among crystal directions in a crystal structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
